SILVER STATE

First Choice

We purchased First Choice in 1999. He was a Classic Cotton son and the improvements we saw in our herd from his offspring were impressive. Although he is deceased, we still have a number of his daughters who all have the 6 essentials.

Polled Rush

Polled Rush was another great addition to our herd. We purchased him from Larry and Kathleen Holt in 2002. Polled Rush is out of Polled Mandate X Special Lady. His calves are thick bodied, dark red, mostly polled, have a low birthweight so we have no fears using him on hefiers and the calves have high weaning weights. We have some fantastic offspring from Rush and collected semen from him before he was sold so we are still selling his sons and daughters.

Black Checkers

 Black Checkers was an embryo calf out of Black Magic and the 413 cow owned by Clark and Charlie Jones. He is a well muscled bull with a trim underline and polled. 2006 was the first calf crop from him and he proved to be another calving ease bull. We used him on heifers and cows and the birthweights are low with good weaning weights.

Red Lazer

Red Lazer is a bull we purchased as a two year old from the Hickory Ridge Corporation. We've collected semen from him because his calves are so thick and meaty we wanted to make sure we could continue the breeding. He is out of Black Lazer and Hickory Ridge 69G with some Ranger's Pride, Levi and Cherokee Phantom in the pedigree. His calves have high weaning weights and are well muscled with good thickness and depth.

Lotta Soul

Our Lotta Soul bull was purchased from the Schell Ranch. He came from an impressive pedigree and was out of CJ"s Soul Man and the Vanessa cow with some Black Magic and Natural Selection in his background. His calves were low birth weight, predominately solid black and "hit the ground running". He did a great job of cleaning up underlines and we kept almost every heifer out of him. His bull calves had a little leg to go with the thickness and has calves were usually polled.

Stevie

Stevie is our black bull we bought from Steve and Cindy Emmons in Fairfield, TX. He is out of CJ's Soul Man and Miss Buff. We have his first calves on the ground in 2010 and have been happy with the results. The calves have very low birth weights and are agressive from birth.They grow off fast and are stocky and predominately polled. We'll see the weaning weights soon, but from the looks of the calves, the numbers will be good.

In The Black

In The Black is a bull we raised and we are excited about him. He is thick, solid black, moderate framed, easy fleshing, trim and with perfect structure and feet.He is very docile but an aggressive breeder with a high libido. As a 2 year old his scrotal measured 44cm. He is out of Black Bayou and our Silver State 648 cow with an impressive background pedigree. We have some calves in our 2010 calf crop that he sired as a yearling and will have data available in 2011. We put up 400 straws of flush quality semen from his first collection.

BENJAMIN$

 Benjamin$ is a moderate framed bull we bought from Ben Mitchell in Palestine, Texas. His sire is out of Black Magic and Lady Tiger. He is thick and well muscled and has a great disposition. We are looking forward to seeing his calves in our 2012 calf crop.
